I recently started selling private label products on Amazon and I am very satisfied with the results. During December (my first full month до sale), I made a total of $75,762.35. All thanks to Ecomm 7. At the very beginning, I had a small inventory and no experience. One day I found the website ecomm7.com and booked a call, after that everything changed!
This number is far beyond my initial goal of earning $25,000 in my first 90 days. I am not writing this for bragging or bragging. The reason why I publish my results is to encourage you to take action, start using and model your own behavior so that you can start generating the level of income you deserve.
I feel transparency is very important, and although the $83,988 I mentioned in the Podcast sounds really good, it’s not all profit. From this figure, we must deduct a Marketplace discount and fee deduction of $26,955, so my check drops to $57,033. (If I say the same myself, it would be pretty cool).
One of the factors limiting my income is that this is my first full month of selling online, so I am not sure how many products I will be able to sell. This has caused two of our best-selling products to be out of stock. If we are not out of stock, these numbers may be even greater. In total, we sold nearly 2,300 units in December.
How did I start? I just heard about FBA from my friend, I tried to make some money by selling the things I don’t use anymore. With no plan or experience, I signed up for the program. I didn’t make any money exactly, so I decided to find some help. And then I found ecomm7.com. I booked a call and they taught me everything I need to know to develop my products and increase my sales. They develop my inventory even today.
You may be wondering what type of products I sell to generate these income levels. Although I would rather not disclose the actual project (I spent a lot of resources on research and creation), I can tell you that we did this with only 10 SKUs. Six of these SKUs belong to the “toy” category. This is actually a product “series” with 6 versions in total. We also have 2 SKUs in the “Handicrafts” category, which are also 1 product and 2 variants. Last but not least, we have 2 SKUs in the “Home and Kitchen” category.
If you are a beginner, it is recommended that you DO NOT use 10 SKUs. Although my grades are very good, it is a big test for me and I cannot recommend it to anyone.
Not all of our products are successful. In fact, the first product I pulled the trigger on was a mistake for various purposes and purposes. Ecomm 7 did research and calculated based on the numbers seen in the product lists of potential competitors. I did not realize that the ranking of this product was exaggerated due to the promotion, so the sales volume was far below my expectations. When I got my first product from a supplier, not only did the sales drop drastically, but other competitors also jumped into the market and started competing for prices.
Our second and third products did better. We sold these products at a higher price than our closest competitor, and we actually sold out these products before Christmas. We have reordered these products, but our suppliers are behind. In order to ship some products to the warehouse, we decided to order a quarter of the total inventory to be shipped by express; the rest will be delivered by ship. We are still waiting for our next product series! These will be the other 4 SKUs of the parent/child variant. I don’t want these products to be sold soon, but the profits can make up for the sales.
You might be wondering how I choose my products?
I was so focused on learning the business I wanted to make sure I have at least a few perspectives. Ecomm 7 did all the work. They advised me that it is good to have at least one toy product, with Christmas being near, they suggested me to have something in the Home & Kitchen category.
The selling price was very important. I knew I don’t have much time to use the holidays, so I wanted to make sure that I can make a good profit every time I trade. We decided to choose products with a retail price of at least US$30 and try to reduce the actual cost of the product (inventory costs, labels, packaging, etc.). We also want to try a more costly product to limit the number of competitors that can compete with us. This strategy paid off!
Although it sounds simple, it does take a lot of time and energy. Ecomm 7 did most of the work with the research and develop but I still worked 7 days a week, 12 to 16 hours a day, to create a website for Podcast at the same time, and let my programmers develop and use tools (such as SCRIBBLES) for us and manage my mobile application business.
When our products entered the market, we began to actively promote them. For a few days, our cost per click exceeded $500.
During our pre-launch and launch process, not everything went smoothly. In fact, I think I have participated in the winter elementary school of Hard Knock School. There are many questions, but it is worth mentioning:
- There is no sticker to close the box. Our manufacturer packs one of our products in a box that is easy to open and has no tape. We did a 3-foot drop test but failed catastrophically. My brother and I had to spend hours sorting the boxes before they could be shipped to their storage. But here Ecomm 7. They sorted all the boxes and helped us with the shipping.
- The bank account was closed. Yes, it is! I chose one of my corporate bank accounts (for Amazon) to send the payment to. I haven’t used the company account for a while, but I never realized that the bank closed the account due to inactivity.
- Amazon lost all my goods. My supplier sent the goods directly to Amazon’s warehouse, and the entire goods were sent to MIA. The Company was able to find two of the three boxes, but they compensated me for the content of the third box. This is a kicking ball… Since I have been selling these products at low discounts to get reviews, they also paid me at steep discounts. If there weren’t my consultants from Ecomm7, I could’ve lost all of my money for the products.
So there you have it. My first full month selling private label products on Amazon was a success, but it wasn’t glamorous. We made mistakes, we had problems, we lost products and worked our asses off to get it done. We even found products we thought viable and just ran out of time to pull the trigger on. I couldn’t have that success if i haven’t hired the experts from Ecomm7. I’m all honest, the best investment you could make for your online business is to hire experts to help you. I highly recommend you ecomm7.com. They could help you if you have any questions, develop your inventory if you have a lots of products and they are always there for you 24/7.
